The Costa Concordia disaster is a painful reminder ships are vulnerable, even modern day crusiseships. Safety on cruise ships remains a concern. Safety aboard cruise ship remains an important issue. Millions if United States passengers travel on cruise ships every year.

The disaster involving the Costa Concordia appears to be clearly the result of human error. The captain of the Costa Concordia, Francesco Schettino has a lot of questions to answer. He has been arrested and is facing possible criminal charges.

It is believed many more dead bodies are going to be found, increasing the death count well above the 5 deaths already reported.
