A motorist struck three motorcycles on Sunday morning, in Fort Lauderdale, while attempting to merge onto the lanes going west on I-595 from southbound I-95.

The accident happened when the driver, 34, swerved her vehicle into a merging lane striking the three motorcycles. Two of the motorcyclists were thrown off their bikes, one of which was seriously injured. While the other two suffered minor injuries, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

None of the motorcyclists were wearing a helmet and all were transported to Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale.
