A woman who was attacked by a pit bull last December has filed a dog bite lawsuit against the dog’s owner. Lynetta Jones was walking to check her mail when she saw Paul Watson’s daughter walking his dog. The pit bull broke free from the girl and attacked Jones – biting her on the arm and yanking her from side to side until a good samaritan driving by stopped to help her.

Watson knew the dog was aggressive and dangerous, the suit alleges. The animal, an aggressive species of dog, had exhibited aggressive, dangerous behavior prior to the attack, according to the suit.

The suit claims Watson also knew or should have known that the daughter was not physically capable of ” leading” the dog and preventing an attack on another person and should not have allowed her to walk the dog unassisted, according to the lawsuit.

Watson was convicted of harboring a vicious animal after the attack.
