Personal Injury Law to be Reformed in Florida(2)

Comments Off

In October of this year, the law that requires drivers to carry a minimum of $10,000 in no-fault personal injury protection is set to expire. Some senators are lobbying to extend the provision but health care providers, insurance companies and the lawyers who fight for the injured people all want the law to be changed.

It is our opinion, that regardless of what is done with PIP/No-Fault law, mandatory Bodily Injury coverage should be enacted. As it stands now, a person could run a stop sign and injure you and under current Florida law, that person is not obligated to carry any insurance for your injuries. We look forward to seeing how this debate plays out.
