FDA agrees that Salmonella was the Culprit

The Food and Drug Administration now confirmed along with the CDC that Salmonella does exist in certain lots of Peter Pan and Great Value Peanut Butter and is the cause for the nationwide sickness. To date, the FDA claims 329 people have been confirmed ill from the bacteria, with 51 hospitalizations.

Meanwhile, the FDA says the outbreak is “ongoing,” meaning that the contaminated product is still in the marketplace and on consumers’ shelves.

Salmonella sickness can includes symptoms of fever, diarrhea and abdominal cramps. It can be life threatening for people with poor health or weakened immune systems.
